New idea: Friends - The One With The Prom Video - S2E14

In general the idea is to give you one episode per blogpost. In every blogpost I'll shortly describe what happens with the six main characters of Friends in that certain episode. SPOILER

General happenings season 2:
The second season begins with Rachel waiting at the gate for Ross to declare her love for him. However, she discovers that he is dating Julie (Lauren Tom), someone he knew from graduate school. Rachel's attempts to tell Ross she likes him mirror his failed attempts in the first season, although the characters eventually begin a relationship. Joey gets cast in a part in a fictional version of the soap opera Days of Our Lives, but his character is killed off after conflicts with the show's writers, claiming that he writes many of his own lines. Chandler gets back with Janice, his ex-girlfriend from season one. Monica begins dating Richard (Tom Selleck), a recently divorced family friend and 21 years her senior. In the season finale, they end their relationship when they realize that unlike Monica, Richard does not want children.

The One With The Prom Video - S2E14
Joey, now earning money, gives Chandler an expensive (and gaudy) gold bracelet. Joey is hurt when he finds out Chandler doesn't like it. Monica has a job interview with a restaurant manager who has a salad fetish. Rachel's starting to date again, which prompts Ross to interfere... until she makes it clear that they are never going to get together. Phoebe shares her "lobster" theory. Jack and Judy Geller come by to drop off some of Monica's things; they're turning her room into a gym. Monica tells them about losing her job, but she just can't get the courage to ask them for money. Amongst Monica's items from home is a video of herself and Rachel preparing for their Senior Prom. Rachel's pre-surgery nose, Monica's large stature, and Ross' "Mr. Kotter" look are featured. In the video, Rachel's date doesn't show up and she's distraught about having to miss her own Prom. Ross prepares to take her, but just before this is revealed, Rachel's date shows up. Rachel, watching the video for the first time, is so moved by Ross' compassion for her that she forgives him for "the list" and kisses him passionately. Monica discovers some unexpected footage of her parents at the end of the video tape.

Joey: He gives Chandler a golden bracelet to thank him for always being there when he had a difficult time making money. But as he is on Days of Our Lives he can pay Chandler back.
He's mad at Chandler when he finds out he doesn't like the bracelet and makes fun of it. They're friends again when Chandler gives him the second bracelet.

Chandler: He doesn't like the bracelet because it repels women (Gail), but he loses it and then buys a new one to replace it. Then Rachel finds the bracelet and he tries to make it up with Joey by giving him the other one.

Ross: He's still in love with Rachel, but he's taking messages from Casey, a guy she met at the movies. He's really jealous when Rachel talks to a guy. She's mad at him because he scares him away.
He loans money to Monica because their parents think she has some savings.

Rachel: She hears from Monica's father Jack that her parents were never happy. Especially after the incident in Hawaii.
She thinks it's really sweet what Ross wanted to do (on the video) and kisses him.

Monica: She is looking for a job as a chef, but she has a terrible interview because the manager talks dirty. Her parents change her room to a gym and bring some stuff over. Not Rosses room because of the trophees.
She wants to borrow money from her parents, but her dad says she should put away 10% of her paycheck for the difficult times.
They find a video where Rachel and Monica are getting ready for the prom. Chip (Rachel's date) was late. And Ross wanted to go with her to comfort her. But then Chip shows up and Ross is broken. She went to the prom with Roy Gublic.
She watches another video and by accident see a scene where her mom and dad... you know.

Phoebe: She's convinced that Ross and Rachel will get together. She's right in the end.
