New FAQ: I don't see the correct thumbnail of the downloaded clothes

When I was creating one of the first dresses I ever created, I came to the problem that I didn't see the correct thumbnail. The thumbnail was different from the dress the sim was wearing.

I searched all over Google and MTS but didn't find the solution until I saw this page at TSR: http://www.thesimsresource.com/tutorials/view/category//id/2575/bodyshop-tips-and-tricks

The trick is to delete this file: CASThumbnails.package

Refresh BodyShop thumbnails. There are times when the thumbnailpreview doesn’t get updated for one reason or another. BodyShop thumbnailpreviews are stored in the following file: My Documents\EA Games\The Sims2\cigen.package. To refresh the previews simply delete that file. Next timeyou run BodyShop, it will create a blank cigen.package file forcing allthe previews to be generated again.

Refresh CAS screen thumbnails. Delete the following file: MyDocuments\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails\ CASThumbnails.package.Next time you run the game, the file will be recreated and the game forced togenerate all the thumbnail previews.

Don't worry about deleting it. When you start the game after deleting this file, the game will automaticly recreate this file and refresh it.

Something new has been started at S2I. For the very first time I tried to create clothing and I must say I like the first result so I want to make more clothes.

Newsflash: Less uploading on MTS

A lot of requested careers (so me not writing the careerdescriptions just creating the file) unfortunatly responded into many rejections on MTS (NEVER on TSR). The high demanding instructions I wrote on the forms should be followed more carefully as they are based on the high demanding rules of MTS.

This is the PM I received today from the MTS Uploadmanager:

Newsflash: Kim De Gelder aka babykiller

I'm from Belgium, Dendermonde. I followed this trial quite closely. I even know some of the victims. I hope you understand I would like to share this:

A BELGIAN court will hear how a then 20-year-old disguised himself as The Joker before going on a killing spree at a nursery four years ago.

Kim De Gelder, now aged 24, will be formally charged with killing two infants and their 54-year-old minder in an attack on Fable Land day care centre in the town of Dendermonde in 2009.

He will also be accused of murdering an elderly woman in a separate attack a week earlier, and be charged for attempted murder on 22 people, including 16 babies and toddlers at the creche.

The jury of eight men and four women will be told by the prosecution that after initial disagreements, psychiatric experts had deemed the accused could stand trial as he was "able to distinguish between good and evil" when the killings took place.

The charge-sheet shows how the then-unemployed 20-year-old, son of a nurse and of an inspector at the state water board, planned the shocking rampage.

At dawn on January 23 he dyed his hair red and painted his face white with black around his eyes like The Joker in the Batman movie The Dark Knight.

Last year, US youth James Holmes was accused of killing 12 people and wounding 58 in a cinema screening the sequel of the film.

Once disguised, De Gelder filled a bag with knives and an axe and cycled to the nursery in mid-morning where he said to 54-year-old minder Marita Blindeman: "I have a question, can you help?"

"Without warning," says the charge-sheet, "the young man began to knife her".

She did not survive.

In the nursery he then went for six-month Corneel and nine-month Leon.

And then, in a bloody rampage that lasted 15 minutes, attacked the remaining children and adults before making off on his bike.

Police said he had planned to attack two more nurseries, a police academy, and even the king but he was picked up an hour later by an officer.

Short situation:
A woman named Jenny is married to a man named Frank. She gets pregnant and about the same time, Frank cheats on his wife with her sister Rosa. Rosa gets pregnant too. At that moment Rosa has a relationship with Franks brother Luc.
Frank and Jenny get a daughter named Bianca. Rosa gets a daughter Peggy. Luc thinks he's the father of Peggy.
Frank and Jenny divorce. Frank remarries Simonne and they get a son named Franky.

Franky turns out to be gay later in life.

New puppy: How to teach?

My puppy Phoebe is now 9 months old. I go to dogschool sometimes to learn how to teach my dog, but she teaches me a lot too.
These are the most important things I've learned so far:

- Check in:
When the dog looks you in the eye, reward her. Do this a lot and the dog will love you much more and will watch you much more. She needs to look at you before you give an command in order for her to do what you asked.

- Encouraging:
They say "As owner, as dog". If you believe in your dog, she will believe in herself.
"Lazy owner, lazy dog" -> The dog won't be active if you don't feel like being active yourself!

- Touching:
As owner it's very important your dog allows you to touch her anywhere. Her paws, legs, ears, mouth,.. It also makes the vets visits easier if she used to this since she has been a puppy.

- Teaching commands:
The most importing thing when a dog is learning something: rewards.

- When rewarding:
Right after the dog did something good (fraction of a second).

- Personal experience:
Say a word (e.g. "good dog") right before you give a reward. That way the dog will associate this word with the reward (candy or something) and it's not such a bad thing to be later than a fraction of a second when rewarding if you immediatly say "good dog".

New Review: Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2

Last week I went to the last movie of the Twilight Saga.
This is what I want to say about it (in short) that really caught my breath. You won't really be able to follow what I'm writing if you haven't seen it.
It's also a huge spoiler!


 

I only saw the first 3 movies. So I didn't see Breaking Dawn Part 1 when I saw the second part.
It wasn't that difficult to follow. I knew they would have a kid together. It's actually the same thing like in the other movies. It always ends in a fight. But this time it was crazy tensive.
I really thought when Alice showed the future to the Volturi that the fight was real. I was really suprised to see that Carisle died. All I could think of was, kill that bastard!
But then still Carisle would be dead and so many others in the meantime too.
Unbelievable what a tension there was during the fight and what a relief when it appeared it was just a vision.
I guess Stephanie Meyer learned something from Harry Potter: Don't let a main character (or someone close to them) die!

New Conversion: Rock Star (Requested)

Lientebollemeis asked me to convert some of her Sims 2 careers and I was very happy to do that! So this is one of her careers, Rock Star!
It was requested for Sims 2 by draamaqueen.
You find here a conversion for the Sims 3. So any additional texts, info etc are by me, but the original idea is from Lientebollemeis and draamaqueen.

Here is the full information for the career for Sims 3. The career has 10 levels and is located at the Theatre. It has one custom tone, Practise Music, which builds the Guitar, Bass, Drums and Piano skills. Only the base game is required, although Late Night is needed for the Bass, Drums and Piano skills to gain.

Technical Stuff:

This career was made with patch 1.42 and should work with all lower patches. It requires the Base Game and should work with any other combination of expansion and stuff packs. It works in my game but if you have problems, let me know :)

Translating

Since I'm not fluent in any language other than English, the career is only written in the one language. So if you're interested in translating, download the Language Strings file and open it in Notepad.

New with Music: Elvis Inducted into Memphis Music Hall of Fame

	Elvis Presley, among other Memphis music greats, were inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame Thursday evening during a musical tribute held at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Memphis. According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Priscilla Presley accepted on behalf of Elvis and noted that Elvis' musical influences included several of his fellow inductees. "I know he would be humbled and pleased to be included in standing with them tonight at this inaugural event," said Priscilla in a video message presented during the ceremony. Memphis is often known as the cradle for legendary musicians in blues, soul, and rock 'n' roll. Sponsored by the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum, the ceremony consisted of 25 inductees who maintained strong ties to the Memphis community and were pioneers in the music industry. Other Memphians honored were Sun Studio founder Sam Phillips, DJ Dewey Phillips, blues legends B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, and Isaac Hayes, among many others.
