New Conversion: Psychologist (request)

Before you download this career, you need to download the Careers mod from Twallan here: The Careers - Phase Ten for this career to show up in-game!

Lientebollemeis asked me to convert some of her Sims 2 careers and I was very happy to do that! So this is one of her careers, Psychologist!
It was requested for the Sims 2 by Izziejelly.

You find here a conversion for the Sims 3. So any additional texts, info etc are by me, but the original idea is from Lientebollemeis and Izziejelly.

Here is the full information for the career for Sims 3. The career is located at the Hospital and the focus is on Logic, Charisma and Athletic. It has one custom tone, Study Psychology, which builds the Logic skill.

Technical Stuff:

This career was made with patch 1.34 and should work with all lower patches and patch 1.36. It requires only the base game to run and should work with any combination of expansion and stuff packs. It works in my game but if you have problems, let me know :)

Translating

Since I'm not fluent in any language other than English, the career is only written in the one language. So if you're interested in translating, download the Language Strings file and open it in Notepad.

New FAQ: The lifespan doesn't work

All the lifespans I made work, even though a lot of people say it doesn't work in their game.

Lifespan
When you put the lifespan in you downloadfolder and you start the game, you won't see any change.
The sim has to grow up first, and then you'll see the different (from default) amount of days left.
New made sims (after the mod is intalled) will be effected from the start. They don't need to grow up first.
There is also a mod so the lifespan works right away so there's no need to grow up the sim: http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?p=5248917#post5248917

Lifespan for plantsims
When a sim turns into a plantsim he/she will keep the lifespan of the stage he/she was in right before it turned into a plantsim. When the plantsim grows up, the lifespan will change in the span of the download.

Petslifespan and Universityspan
This is the same (as the lifespan) with Pets and University.

Pregnancyspan
Sims who are pregnant at the moment you put the pregnancyspan in your downloadfolder, won't be effected. New pregnant sims will be effected.
The pregnancyspanmod has some other BCON's in the package too. If it the span doesn't work, please, contact me personally on Facebook (available at this blog).

Skillspan
This should work immediatly.

Seasonspan
Normally this should work immediatly like the skillspan. If not, wait a few days until the season changes.

Important
Be sure you only have one lifespan at a time in your downloadfolder!
If you have a lifespan only for plantsims don't download another one for normal sims. You'll have to choose.

Be sure you only have one petslifespan at a time in your downloadfolder!

To find the career in game you need to search the newspaper and/or computer daily. The more careers you have the lesser chance there is you'll find it quickly in the newspaper and/or computer.

New Conversion: Wedding Planner (request)

Before you download this career you need to download the Careers mod from Twallan here: Careers so that the career shows up in-game!

Lientebollemeis asked me to convert some of her sims 2 careers and I was very happy to do that! So this is one of her careers, Wedding Planner! It was requested for the sims 2 from SonicBoom12.

You find here a conversion of the career for sims 3. So any additional texts, infos etc. are by myself, but the origional idea is from Lientebollemeis and SonicBoom12.

Here is the full information for the career. The career is located at the business rabbithole and the focus is on design (painting), cooking and charisma. It has custom tones, but remember you need to have one point of each skill so that the custom tones show up!

New FAQ: Can you make Sims 3 careers?

June, 2021
Can I create careers for TS1, TS2, TS3, TS4?
TS1: I haven't tried it (yet), but basicly it's possible to create careers for TS1. The only downside is that it's not possible to create NEW careers. So this means that a custom career must always overwrite a Maxis career.
TS2: Careers for TS2 is one of my specialties in the meantime. I have been creating careers for TS2 since 2010.
TS3: I tried and tried and tried, but yet I haven't been able to create careers for TS3. So the chance that I will create TS3 careers by request is very low.
TS4: I feel it's harder to create TS4 careers than TS3 careers. I don't think I'll ever start creating them. But if there are creators who want to convert my TS2 careers to TS4, please, contact me on Facebookmessenger (sidebar of this blog)

July, 2015
I have a new computer now, but still I don't have the modding talent to create for TS3. I'm now trying with TS4, but no luck with that game either. I think I will stick to TS2 only.

About the conversions:
Missyhissy did make some conversions, but then suddenly decided not to anymore. She doesn't reply to my mails (I don't want to stalk her so I gave up on that months ago) anymore either. I don't know why, but she just ignores them.

Sorry to say that I'm not able to create anything for Sims 3. Not only is my computer too old and too slow to create and test Sims 3 creations, but I also don't have the modding talent to create for it.

So I asked some Sims 3 career creators to convert The Sims 2 careers I made to Sims 3. And I'm very happy to say MissyHissy has made a few conversions.
How many and when there will be new conversions is up to her.
At the moment she doesn't except requests so I don't know when there will be new conversions if there will be.

New Tutorial: How to choose gender

Do you really want a boy, but do you always get a girl. Here is the sollution:

You can try following things (it's not sure that it works, but it can't hurt to try):

Try-Out 1:
When the man asks "Try for Baby", it might be a boy. If the woman asks "Try for Baby", it might be a girl.

Try-Out 2:
When the woman is going to give birth (she starts screaming), pause the game and save. When the baby doesn't have the gender you want, you can go back to the hood WITHOUT saving. Then you go back to the family to let the woman give birth again until the baby has the gender you want.

New Tutorial: How to change the last name

Situation 1:
When a sim is pregnant and has a baby before she is married, the baby will have the last name of the mother. When the mother and father get married after the baby was born, the baby still has the last name of the mother. So you want to change the last name of the baby.

Situatie 2: If you want a Family Tree with the last name like this e.g.: Landgraab I, Landgraab II, Landgraab III,...
This is only possible if you change the last name of the next heir.

New Tutorial: How to be a student without leaving mom

When you have University you're obliged to go to that neighbourhood when you want to be a student. But this is not neccessary. Your sim can live in Pleasantview as a Young Adult AND going to college.

Very useful when your young adult has a child.

You need the insimenator for this.
Change the age of your sim to young adult with the insimenator and then the sim is a young adult in Pleasantview.

New Challenge: Make something of your life

There are 6 levels in this challenge. Each level has got ten tasks which you have to achieve before you may proceed to the next level.

You don't need any expansion packs to play this challenge.
You have to do what the task tells you to do.
When you have managed to achieve all goals from the challenge, you may proceed to the next challenge.
The only cheat you may use is aging off(which you are probably going to need)

Hi,

I don't have time for The Sims 2, (new) requests and all for some time. I will do the current requests, but I won't put a guideline on them so I can do them on my own time.

On a lot of places you'll find I take requests. I do, but I'm on a temporary break right now. So remember your requests till I have time to accept them again.

New Tutorial: Your own movies/TV show on Sims TV

First some important things:
1. The movie shouldn't be too long. (It's smaller (in MB) and takes less time to download)
2. YouTube is the best for short fun movies.
3. It should ALWAYS be AVI!
4. ALWAYS 128x128. Otherwise it will not look good on Sims TV.
5. ALWAYS 15 frames/seconde. It may be more, but then the file will be bigger.
6. You may remove or replace the files with extension .movie (default movies)
8. Channels came with Base Game, University, Seasons and Free Time.

Now the tutorial
First you decide which movie you want for which channel. I choose the trailer of the first Harry Potter movie for the channel Horrormovie Werewolf (came with Free Time) which I found on YouTube. I choose a trailer and not the whole movie as the movie should be short.

IMPORTANT: You have to watch the whole movie (trailer in this case) on YouTube first so it's fully loaded.

If you know which movie you want (YouTube or a file on your computer) go to this site:

This is what you need to fill in:
Bestand kiezen: Choose the file on your computer.
OF enter URL: Give the URL copied from YouTube
Change Size: 128x128 is ideal.
Change frame rate: 15 frames per second as it should be
Cut video: If the movie you chose is too long you can make it smaller by filling out the start- and endminute. The first 00 is hour. The second 00 are minutes and the third 00 are seconds.
Convert file: Check everything and then press Convert file.

Don't change anything else if you don't know what you're doing!

The longer the movie, the longer it will take to download.

Now you get this screen:

After a short while you get this screen:

You can fill out your e-mail and press Submit address.
If you do that, you may shut the window and even shut down your computer. You'll get an e-mail when the file is ready to download.
If you don't want to give your e-mail, you'll have to wait until the window Save As shows so you can save the file.

Where you need to place the file depends on which channel you chose (see overview at the bottom).

Project Realistic Ages SIMS 3

In addition to the Project Realistic Ages for SIMS 2, I can now present the same (Base Game) age mod for Sims 3. All the ages Short to Epic are the same and as followed:

Baby: 3 months = 3 days
Toddlers: 69 Days
Children: 84 Days
Teens: 72 Days

Young adults: 184 Days
Adults: 368 Days
Total of baby to adult: 780 days/12 = 65 years

Elders have no days, but a chance to die tied to the short, epic, ect age span length. It is 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%, 5%. With short being the highest and epic the lowest.

My biggest thanks go to Tiake on MTS as he made this mod and gave me permission to put it on a website.
