This idea becomes a bit more specific as I am almost ready to upload the first career. So I thought it might be time to give you some short info on the school system in Belgian. It's just some info you need to know to understand the careers I am creating for teen sims.
There are 4 general types in secondary school. Each type has different directions. I won't create a teen career for everyone of those different directions because then I have to create +250 careers. Only for the general type I followed myself I will create all the careers for the directions you can follow in my old high school. For the other types I will limit it to the most common ones and combine them a bit (E.g.: Ballet and modern ballet are two different directions and I would combine them then to 1 teen career).
Also there's an abreviation of every of those general types. I put it in bold in the overview below. It's the abreviation I will use to indicate to which general type the teen career belongs.
Secondary school in Belgium is divided into four general types. Each type consists of a set of different directions that may vary from school to school. The general types are as follows:
- General Secondary Education (Dutch: Algemeen Secundair Onderwijs; ASO) (The type I followed myself in the direction Economics-Math)
- Technical Secondary Education (Dutch: Technisch Secundair Onderwijs; TSO)
- Vocational Secondary Education (Dutch: Beroepssecundair Onderwijs; BSO)
- Art Secondary Education (Dutch: Kunstsecundair Onderwijs; KSO)

New Idea: Friends - The One Where Chandler Can't Remember Which Sister - S3E11
In general the idea is to give you one episode per blogpost. In every blogpost I'll shortly describe what happens with the six main characters of Friends in that certain episode. SPOILER

General happenings season 3:
Season three takes on a significantly greater serialized format. Rachel begins working at Bloomingdale's, an upscale department store chain, and Ross becomes jealous of her colleague, Mark. Rachel decides to take a break; and Ross, hurt and drunk, sleeps with someone else, causing Rachel to break up with him. In the meantime, Chandler has a hard time dealing with their breakup because it reminds him of his parents' divorce. After believing she has no family except her twin sister Ursula (Lisa Kudrow), Phoebe becomes acquainted with her half-brother (Giovanni Ribisi) and birth mother (Teri Garr). Joey develops a relationship with his acting partner Kate (Dina Meyer), and Monica begins a relationship with millionaire Pete Becker (Jon Favreau) which ends because of disagreements between the two.

Joey astounds the gang with a card trick. Chandler, depressed over his break-up with Janice, fools around with one of Joey's sisters at Joey's birthday party; but afterward can't remember which sister; he visits the Tribianni family, hoping to figure it out, but only gets himself into trouble--by kissing the wrong one. Rachel meets Mark, who gets her an interview at Bloomingdale's; Ross worries about Mark's motives. Phoebe dates the noisy guy from upstairs, who seems to charm himself out of any situation.
Joey: He understand Chandler feeling bad after seeing Janice with her husband because he went through the same thing. He saw his ex Katherine and her friend Donna just walking. It killed him, but he ended up taking them to his apartment after that. He talks to Chandler about him kissing his sister and is excited it would become something..
Chandler: He saw Janice and his husband skating and he feels terrible again. At the party for Joey's birthday he gets really really drunk and kisses Joey's sister, but he can't remember which one. He finds out it's Mary Angela. So he goes to Joey's parents' house to talk to her about it, but it's Joey who opens the door. He has dinner with the family (Tiramisu), but still doens't know who Mary Angela is and ends up kissing Mary Therese in the bathroom. They all find ouot that he can't remmeber Mary Angela and Joey lets Cookie punch Chandler.
Ross: He's very jealous of Mark. He can't believe a strange guy can be nice to a girl for no reason.
Rachel: She hates her job because she still has to make coffee (for Mr. Kaplan). She tells this to Monica in the diner and Mark overhears them. He works at Bloomingdale's and arranges a job interview for Rachel. She gets the job.
Monica: Nothing much happens to her in this episode. She's happy for Rachel getting the job interview at Bloomingdale's.

New Recolor: Dartboard - Mrs Crumplebottom
This is my 1000th blogpost. This is something I never made before.
A recolor of the dartsboard with a picture of Mrs Crumplebottom.

I heard many people don't like Mrs Crumplebottom so I chose her to try it out.
My sim loved to throw arrows at here picture.

New Babyoutfit: The Smurfs - Jokey Smurf
On my blog you can already download clothes for YA and Adult females, but these are for babies.
Normally a baby has one outfit and the same one for every new born. (You can have default replacements but still all babies wear the same outfit.)
With this every baby can have a different outfit and you can change it as much as you like.
This is NOT A DEFAULT REPLACEMENT. Your babies can switch outfits as much as you want!
I'm not a huge fan of babies in the Sims 2. They can't do anything and the sims cannot do much with them. It's a lifestage that I always hope to go by quickly. But now they can have different outfits every day. I want to have them with my sims a little longer now.

Mod object
You'll need Chris Hatch's mod (http://bit.ly/1dobWoV) to use these clothes (otherwise, they won't show up and your baby will just wear a diaper if you don't have any other defaults installed). All outfits are unisex. The Pets EP or higher is required to use the mod.

How to USE Chris Hatch's Plan Baby Mod:
0. Purchase the Buy Baby Outfit teddy bear. You can find it in the Kids section. It's a teddy bear and costs $49.
1. Have your parent Sim either hold their baby or put their baby on the floor. I haven't checked this with every possible combination of relatives, but an unrelated adult CANNOT get new clothes for a baby. Didn't think to check with teenagers. Somebody try it and report back?
2. With your parent Sim selected, click on the teddy bear and select "Buy Outfit For..." which should lead you to the names of all infants ant toddlers in the household. Click on a toddler's name.
3. A standard clothing-purchase window will pop up. DO NOT CLICK ANY AGE ICONS. Click on one of the gender icons instead. That's the only way to get to the baby clothes. Select and purchase baby clothes as you would normal clothes; they only cost $25 each so stock up. Hit the check-mark to buy clothes.
4. When the clothing purchase window closes, a plan outfit window will appear. So... plan your outfit.
5. If you forgot to plan your outfit, panicked and hit Close, or just want to change your baby's casual clothing for the season, buy one of the Maxis changing tables and have a parent Sim Plan Outfit For their baby as they would for a toddler.

Gunther re-trains Rachel on how to be a waitress; she realizes it's time to quit working at the coffee shop. Ross accidentally breaks a little girl's leg, and ends up selling Brown Bird Cookies for her so she can go to Space Camp. Monica's childhood cookie habit returns. Joey gets a job at a Christmas tree lot. Phoebe tries to come to terms with the cruelty of having a Christmas tree.
Joey: He's selling Christmas Trees on commission. His father had a plumbing job at Fortunata Fashions were they are looking for someone new.
Chandler: Nothing much happens to him. He makes fun of Ross because he broke a girl's leg (watch out kids) and he convinces Rachel to quit her job while she doesn't have anything else. She needs The Fear (but he is too afraid to quit his job himself).
Ross: He feels awful after accidently breaking the leg of a girl so to help her he starts selling Brown Bird Cookies so she can go to Space Camp. Because he finds out her father has a gambling issue and she has no mother anymore. He ends up being second because another kid's sister went to the USS Nimitz and sells 2000 boxes of cookies.
Rachel: She feels awful because she has to take the training of being a waitress again, while it was just a temp job. Joey and Chandler push her a bit and she decides to quit. Gunther, who is secretly in love with Rachel, cries on her last day. She has the job at Fortunata Fashions.
Monica: Brown Bird Cookies were the cause of Monica's weightgain when she was a child. Her dad had to buy all of the boxes because she ate them all. She wants some more boxes and realises she's addicted to the cookies again.
Phoebe: First she's against Joey selling Christmas Trees, but then she's convinced they're forfilling their Christmas destiny. However the old ones are thrown in the chipper and she wants to sell them too. To confort her, her friends buy all the old trees and put them in the living room.

UPDATE TS4 New Tutorial: Create a new lifespan
I don't support the lifespanmods for TS4 anymore.

The reason why I don't support them anymore, is because nearly every time there's a new patch, update, game pack or EP there's a huge chance this needs to be updated (so have fun with that).
I hardly play the game myself anymore and if I play it's totally without CC 'cause nearly every time there's a new patch, update, game pack or EP there's a huge chance +50% of my CC needs to be updated.
The principle of this tutorial still is the same after the toddler patch and after the Cats & Dogs EP. You just need to change the age for toddlers and pets as well.

New BabyOutfit: The Smurfs - Brainy Smurf
On my blog you can already download clothes for YA and Adult females, but these are for babies.
Normally a baby has one outfit and the same one for every new born. (You can have default replacements but still all babies wear the same outfit.)
With this every baby can have a different outfit and you can change it as much as you like.
This is NOT A DEFAULT REPLACEMENT. Your babies can switch outfits as much as you want!
I'm not a huge fan of babies in the Sims 2. They can't do anything and the sims cannot do much with them. It's a lifestage that I always hope to go by quickly. But now they can have different outfits every day. I want to have them with my sims a little longer now.

New Idea: Friends - The One With The Football - S309
In general the idea is to give you one episode per blogpost. In every blogpost I'll shortly describe what happens with the six main characters of Friends in that certain episode. SPOILER

General happenings season 3:
Season three takes on a significantly greater serialized format. Rachel begins working at Bloomingdale's, an upscale department store chain, and Ross becomes jealous of her colleague, Mark. Rachel decides to take a break; and Ross, hurt and drunk, sleeps with someone else, causing Rachel to break up with him. In the meantime, Chandler has a hard time dealing with their breakup because it reminds him of his parents' divorce. After believing she has no family except her twin sister Ursula (Lisa Kudrow), Phoebe becomes acquainted with her half-brother (Giovanni Ribisi) and birth mother (Teri Garr). Joey develops a relationship with his acting partner Kate (Dina Meyer), and Monica begins a relationship with millionaire Pete Becker (Jon Favreau) which ends because of disagreements between the two.
The One With The Football- S3E09
The girls cook Thankgiving dinner while the guys watch a football game on TV; all six decide to play football together. Monica and Ross compete for the "Geller Cup." Joey and Chandler compete for a Dutch girl. Rachel goes long. Phoebe flashes the other team.
Joey: He and Chandler fight over the Dutch girl, Margha. He thinks Chandler is better at numbers than picking up girls.
Chandler: He wants to ask out the Dutch girl to get over Janice. He competes with Joey and the Dutch girl picks him, but then she changes her answer to no one.
Ross: He competes with Monica in a football game over the Geller Cup. He and Monica played football every thanksgiving when they were kids until Monica "accidently" broke his nose.
Rachel: Monica and Ross (the captains of the team) don't have much faith in her. In the end Phoebe convinces Monica to use Rachel in the game too and Rachel scores, what she thinks is the winning touchdown, but she's a few feet short so the game is still on.
Monica: Trough the whole episode there's a huge competition with her brother over the Geller Cup. When her parents took Ross to the hospital she recovered the Cup from the lake (where her father threw the Cup because he was sick of them fighting over it). After Rachel's mistake scoring the winning touchdown, she and Ross stay on the field until it's starting to snow, still fighting over the Cup.
Phoebe: It's the first time she plays football, but she's not at all bad. She loves the game (because she's scoring). When the teams change into the guys against the girls, she's concerned in how to defeat three boys. She then flashes Chandler who has the ball and he's startled that much she can take the ball from him.

New Babyoutfit: The Smurfs - Smurfette
On my blog you can already download clothes for YA and Adult females, but these are for babies.
Normally a baby has one outfit and the same one for every new born. (You can have default replacements but still all babies wear the same outfit.)
With this every baby can have a different outfit and you can change it as much as you like.
This is NOT A DEFAULT REPLACEMENT. Your babies can switch outfits as much as you want!
I'm not a huge fan of babies in the Sims 2. They can't do anything and the sims cannot do much with them. It's a lifestage that I always hope to go by quickly. But now they can have different outfits every day. I want to have them with my sims a little longer now.

How to USE Chris Hatch's Plan Baby Mod:
0. Purchase the Buy Baby Outfit teddy bear. You can find it in the Kids section. It's a teddy bear and costs $49.
1. Have your parent Sim either hold their baby or put their baby on the floor. I haven't checked this with every possible combination of relatives, but an unrelated adult CANNOT get new clothes for a baby. Didn't think to check with teenagers. Somebody try it and report back?
2. With your parent Sim selected, click on the teddy bear and select "Buy Outfit For..." which should lead you to the names of all infants ant toddlers in the household. Click on a toddler's name.
3. A standard clothing-purchase window will pop up. DO NOT CLICK ANY AGE ICONS. Click on one of the gender icons instead. That's the only way to get to the baby clothes. Select and purchase baby clothes as you would normal clothes; they only cost $25 each so stock up. Hit the check-mark to buy clothes.
4. When the clothing purchase window closes, a plan outfit window will appear. So... plan your outfit.
5. If you forgot to plan your outfit, panicked and hit Close, or just want to change your baby's casual clothing for the season, buy one of the Maxis changing tables and have a parent Sim Plan Outfit For their baby as they would for a toddler.

New Hood: Brook Meadow
This is the very first time I created a neighbourhood. I wanted to do this for a very very long time. I already knew how, but SimCity4 is installed on another computer so I hadn't have always the chance or the time to create it.
You don't need anything to use this neighbourhood. But don't put it in your downloadfolder. You should put it in the folder EA Games/ The Sims 2/ SC4Terrains

The Important Essentials

New Idea: Marketing - Balloons
I want the businesses my sims have to grow and to be in the picture so I want to do some marketing and let my sims spend money on it.
When seeing this upload: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=605744 by Michelle the other day, I thought: "Hey, balloons in the display is good marketing!" and they cost money.
So I suggest you check them out to see whether there are balloons there you can use for your businesses.

New "How I Play": First things first
In October 2017 I started playing again with a brand new neighbourhood. The Genderswapped Uberhood by Sushigal007 at MTS: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=522935
I love playing Pleasantview, but starting it again would have meant that I would play the same story as I did before (even if it was almost 10 years ago).
So I wanted to start playing Pleasantview, but with a difference and the Genderswapped Uberhood was just what I was looking for.
But I thought first things first: What I wanted to do before even starting the game is solving out my downloadfolder.
Things I really needed to play and things I could do without.

For the past 8 years I really have enjoyed creating new things for The Sims 2. Don't worry this is not an announcement for my retirement on The Sims 2 creating, but I want to put some more time in playing and less time in creating.

New Essential CC: Sims Work Every Day
This post is about the essential Sims Work Every Day global mod because it affects all custom and default careers at once.
This is linked to the essential Vacation Pay Out
Also my PTO3 versions of my custom careers and the default Maxis ones I made.
What bother's me a lot is that there are so many unpaid days off in later levels of careers. First of all CEO's or presidents work at least as much as civilians. Second when you calculate what they earn per week with their higher wages, but working only 3 days a week, their wages per week are smaller than the wage per week of a lower level sim who works 5 days a week.
So then I thought I wanted to make a career version where the sim has to work every day, but then I have +200 careers to edit. So I asked Gummilut @ MTS to help me create a global mod. And that's how I made Sims Work Every Day.
But by default a sim earns a Paid vacation day (Paid Time Off = PTO) every 7 days. So I already updated a lot of my uploaded careers and added a PTO3 and PTO5 version, but I have to update a lot more.
For me in Belgium PTO3 is most suitable if you know that we work about 220 days a year.
But then it might be possible that your sims' workdays add up really quickly if they are hard workers and go to work every day. So there's the modded object Fruit Of Life by cathair2005 @ MTS. This is the only way I know to pay out vacation days which you can see as an extra bonus.

For me this is interesting as my sims can save up a lot of vacation days so they don't need to go to work from pregnancy till the baby is nearly a child even with my Project Realistic Ages (1 simsday is 1 real month which is essential for me), but it's best to have 2 parents then.
It also makes it easier to combine a business and a job if you have Open For Business.
IMPORTANT
When a sim changes jobs, gets fired, retires,... (not promotion or demotion) the vacation days are gone. So be sure to pay out those vacations days in time.

But then it might be possible that your sims' workdays add up really quickly if they are hard workers and go to work every day. So there's the modded object Fruit Of Life by cathair2005 @ MTS. This is the only way I know to pay out vacation days which you can see as an extra bonus.

For me this is interesting as my sims can save up a lot of vacation days so they don't need to go to work from pregnancy till the baby is nearly a child even with my Project Realistic Ages (1 simsday is 1 real month which is essential for me), but it's best to have 2 parents then.
It also makes it easier to combine a business and a job if you have Open For Business.
IMPORTANT
When a sim changes jobs, gets fired, retires,... (not promotion or demotion) the vacation days are gone. So be sure to pay out those vacations days in time.

New Babyoutfit: Togepi
On my blog you can already download clothes for YA and Adult females, but these are for babies.
Normally a baby has one outfit and the same one for every new born. (You can have default replacements but still all babies wear the same outfit.)
With this every baby can have a different outfit and you can change it as much as you like.
This is NOT A DEFAULT REPLACEMENT. Your babies can switch outfits as much as you want!
I'm not a huge fan of babies in the Sims 2. They can't do anything and the sims cannot do much with them. It's a lifestage that I always hope to go by quickly. But now they can have different outfits every day. I want to have them with my sims a little longer now.

Mod object
You'll need Chris Hatch's mod (http://bit.ly/1dobWoV) to use these clothes (otherwise, they won't show up and your baby will just wear a diaper if you don't have any other defaults installed). All outfits are unisex. The Pets EP or higher is required to use the mod.

How to USE Chris Hatch's Plan Baby Mod:
0. Purchase the Buy Baby Outfit teddy bear. You can find it in the Kids section. It's a teddy bear and costs $49.
1. Have your parent Sim either hold their baby or put their baby on the floor. I haven't checked this with every possible combination of relatives, but an unrelated adult CANNOT get new clothes for a baby. Didn't think to check with teenagers. Somebody try it and report back?
2. With your parent Sim selected, click on the teddy bear and select "Buy Outfit For..." which should lead you to the names of all infants ant toddlers in the household. Click on a toddler's name.
3. A standard clothing-purchase window will pop up. DO NOT CLICK ANY AGE ICONS. Click on one of the gender icons instead. That's the only way to get to the baby clothes. Select and purchase baby clothes as you would normal clothes; they only cost $25 each so stock up. Hit the check-mark to buy clothes.
4. When the clothing purchase window closes, a plan outfit window will appear. So... plan your outfit.
5. If you forgot to plan your outfit, panicked and hit Close, or just want to change your baby's casual clothing for the season, buy one of the Maxis changing tables and have a parent Sim Plan Outfit For their baby as they would for a toddler.

New Idea: The School Project
I am not really happy with the schoolsystem in game. I mean they have to do homework, but except for a scholarship if they have at least A-, there's not really a point to do homework. I mean they can have A+ and earn a scholarship but have no benefit for the rest of their lives.
So I am really busy working on several (really a lot of) teen careers in which they can choose different fields of study to earn skills that can help them get a (skill) scholarship, at college and in their future careers (also when they don't go to college).
This school project is based on the school system in Belgium as I know it today. I have been to college to become a teacher in high school so I know the school system quite well.
I know the schoolsystem in other countries can be very different from the one in Belgium, but as I am creating this for my own game, I want to create it my way.
Every field of study (teen career) will focus on one or two skills, but there will be chance cards so they earn other skills too.
The scholarships that can be earned (at least 3):
So when the sim is a good student as a child (at least A-) it can apply for a scholarship when becoming a teen and before choosing one of the field of study careers because they have to change to the school "vacation" so they can go to the career in day time.
By following the field of study career, it's necessary to "promote" to level 3 in the end. For reaching level 3 in a teen career, the teen can apply for a scholarship.
When being "promoted" to level 3 in a field of study career, the teen has between 5 and 10 skillpoints for a certain skill depending on the form of education and the field of study that has been chosen.
From the moment a teen has 8 or more skillpoints of a certain skill, the teen can apply for a scholarship.
And then there's the benefit of having so many skillpoints for 1 or 2 skills when choosing a major.
It's still a lot of work to finish this school project, but as you can read I have put a lot of thought in this idea already.
